We've been talking about the minimalism behind the minimalism lately on the podcast. Editing your closet, home, and schedule can be incredibly liberating. But what happens when you are faced with everything that is underneath? We have a real growth opportunity when we get down to the bare essentials, and that is to let our true selves come out and play. Once she sees the light of day, her pupils could dilate a little. She might feel a little numb. She might be scared of getting hurt.
This is all normal.
But this is where surrender comes in. Surrender to the fear that the real you is not good enough, smart enough, hip enough, minimalist enough, fun-loving enough...whatever it is. Surrender, in faith, that the real you is awesome and living in your unique light is not only good enough, but was how you were born to live.
I normally like to create blog posts with a brief and practical list of things to try or points to make, but this time I'd like to simply invite you into our conversation on the podcast. We are in the middle of a series inspired by Glennon Doyle Melton's latest book, Love Warrior called Unbecoming, where we discuss uncovering our true selves, having the courage to surrender to her, and then letting her love and light flow forth. Wishing you peace, wonder and joy...and the freedom that comes with less.
